Knowing what it takes to operate a successful independent car rental agency, Stan co-founded Car Rental Express to consistently provide outstanding products and services that will better the independent car rental industry. He oversees daily operations, consults on all major decisions and is responsible for long-term planning, strategy implementation, and sales promotion. Stan also understands the importance of customer service and continues to ensure that it is the dominating force behind all company operations.

Stan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia.

Karen Andersen - Vice President and Lead Programmer
A co-founder of the company, Karen is the technical genius that creates the innovative working solutions that define Car Rental Express. She consults on all major decisions and long-term planning, and is consistently able to develop company ideas into functional Internet solutions.

Karen spends most of her time further developing the Car Rental Express Reservation system. She maintains the long-term goal of creating an Internet reservation system that is fully customizable to the needs of any agency, enabling it to simultaneously deliver accurate, current and complete information to the renting public.

Karen has put her engineering studies aside to devote herself full-time to Car Rental Express. She currently takes ongoing Technology, Business and Programming Courses at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Janet Levy - Manager, Administration
Janet is the woman who sends the invoices. She is responsible for all company finances, including accounts receivable and payable.

After graduating from the University of British Columbia, Janet started a career in education. This was followed by 16 years spent at the provincial auto insurer, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Here she worked in the Advertising and Marketing Department developing road safety programs and managing advertising campaigns.

Working in a private company gives Janet the perspective to understand financial matters from the viewpoint of the independent owner.

Paul Allison - General Manager
Paul Allison has been a professional Internet developer and marketer since 1997. His extensive background involves experience in all aspects of Internet business, including website design, search engine and email marketing, conversion optimization, application development, Internet metric analysis, online business model development, e-commerce design, development and implementation, channel conflict avoidance, and Internet trust, privacy and security compliance.

Paul has a keen sense of how to use the Internet creatively and effectively in order to develop real solutions for our clients' Internet requirements thus adding substantial value to any online business. Paul managed large and small teams of designers, programmers and marketers in a number of Internet companies before coming to Car Rental Express and taking a leading role as head of marketing and sales.

Paul studied Sociology, Anthropology and Third World Development at Trent University and Simon Fraser University as well as New Media Development at Vancouver Film School.

Stefan Klopp - Software Developer and Systems Administrator
Since launching his first website in 1996, Stefan has gained a wealth of programming experience and expertise. After working with a Vancouver online firm for over a year, Stefan had the unique experience of volunteering his technical expertise in Africa as a member of Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO), an international development NGO.

While in Africa, Stefan spent six months teaching Linux and Web Development to schoolteachers and students in Uganda for Schoolnet Uganda, and spent five months in country and three months remotely as a Technical Projects Manager for Computer Frontiers International. There, he oversaw the development of three major web projects for companies in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Stefan has a Diploma in Computer Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and has done significant studies at the University of Victoria.

Tom Laws - Customer Support Manager

Previously a layout and production manager for a local newspaper, Tom uses his experience from his time at The Other Press to assist with the design, maintenance and development of the Car Rental Express website. Tom believes that using the Internet should be fun. He uses his creativity, ingenuity and imagination to ensure that our site is as aesthetically pleasing and as easily navigable as possible so that all patrons are guaranteed an enjoyable experience while online.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Chemistry from the University of Alberta and has also completed a diploma in marketing at Douglas College. Tom also studied desktop publishing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has continued his education in physical chemistry at Simon Fraser University.

Tom's true calling, however, is music and he can be seen playing rhythm guitar in his band "The Drycleaners" when he is not sitting at his desk tapping away on his keyboard.

Bailey - Security Coordinator
With a ferocious bark and a mouthful of huge teeth, Bailey is Car Rental Express's 90-pound German Shepherd security coordinator. He is a graduate of Guardian Dog Services and takes his job very seriously (at least that's what he wants you to think). We at Car Rental Express know that his main job is to sit in front of the cookie jar, waiting mournfully until someone weakens and gives him a treat. He also likes to wander around the office carrying his pet rubber ducky in his mouth.
