eTurbo News reported today, November 28,2003 that a new price war was beginning today in various long haul airline routes. These include such destinations such as New York, London, Sydney, and others.
As international travel becomes more affordable a new market of international travelers opens up. International travelers do not just stay in the airline destination city. These travelers are interested in seeing it all, especially if it can be done at a reasonable price.
Take advantage of this expected upswing in airline travel (also see the News from November 26, 2003), and make sure your advertising and rental specials encourage these travelers to drive to see the sites. As an example, give a discount upon presentation of an international or other boarding pass. Do not pass up this opportunity by not recognizing the airline traveler. As airline travel comes back to the levels of pre 9/11, reward those who are traveling again. With a good rental experience, you will have another renter solidly as your customer.
